Yes I have been having this problem since only a couple weeks after the start of 1.481. I will try the zip file of the update. Its been almost 2 months since i've played cause of this problem. I have since cancelled my sub but would be happy to re-sub if i can get this problem fixed. I have since re-formatted my HD so I know its not a problem from my end.
I think a downloadable update should be placed on the website and updates with each update. Thanx.

P.S. I tried the DS.zip file and it still freezes in the same spot. 65% of game.dll. Anyway, what I have noticed is that it freezes in a different spot eveytime there is a new update for "smartupdate" to download. I've had it freeze on the editor.exe, game.dll, file.dll, debug.dll, factory.dll, and many different .wob files. I have yet to have it finish the update. Please, I luv this game and would like to see these problems fixed. I don't know how much longer I can wait b4 I give up on this game completely.
