As you all know, ships no longer need to slow down to 0 to make a jump. While I can't say I like the feature, I can't say I hate it. But at the same time, as you gathered from my title, it makes running when there is a dictor around even more impossible.
Dictors (without reactors for the Piercer, or without shield damage for the ICC) can run at about 15-17gu/sec without losing energy. Even running at full speed, it takes just over 2 minutes for energy to totally run out. But before, to jump closer to a fleeing enemy a dictor had to slow down to 0. This gave the enemy ship you were chasing that much extra distance and, depending on the chased ship and the distance between it and the dictor, it just might be able to escape, via an emergency jump or what have you.
But now dictors don't have to slow down and, with an AM Jump Drive, their ability to trap anything above a frigate has increased exponentially. While all factions are able to use this to their own advantage, I feel it is still unfair to all involved to simply have a dictor 800gu back moving at almost full speed be able to jump to 150gu away in an instant.
So, here I am with yet another interdictor suggestion, two actually.
Dictors should:
a) Drain even more energy, forcing the dictor to stay far away from combat and stay at very low speeds (I'm looking at somewhere around 10gu/sec).
OR
b) Have a charge time associated with them and NOT be able to jump any distance (ejump or normal) with them turned on. Either it just won't let the ship jump; or destroys the Dictor device and Jump Drive because of the catastrophic interaction between the two.

No, I cant say I hate it, but I definitely dont like it, not one bit.
It takes away from the suspense of the game, if youre low on health, you can just make a jump to wherever you want.
The way it was before was better, you can make an e-jump without stopping, but end up at 0 gus, or you stop to make a normal jump.
I hope itll get changed back, but its just my opinion, Im sure some of you will think differently..

Dictors are all but useless now in reality. Wormholes completely bypass interdiction fields, both naval and planetary. The ONLY use for an interdictor now is to catch fleeing enemies that don't have a wormhole out.
