What if you capture a ship.... what then? let it sit in space?

Are you really going to allow a bunch of poorly-educated, violence-prone combat grunts attempt to pilot a StarShip once they have slaughtered the crew and had their way with the livestock?

Are you mad?

Did GI's in World War II, when capturing a German airstrip, immediately jump in the Fighters and go on ground support missions? Hell No!

Capture the ship and then scuttle it. Or loose a precentage of your combat ability because a skeleton crew must leave your ship to pilot the captured one to a save port...your Percentage goes back to 100% when you orbit a friendly planet with a ship yard.

It flies off into a faction gate and you get prestige and bragging rights, as well as having neutralized an enemy ship.

random thoughts:

Shoudn't Inf come on ships as a norm as defense?

Friendly Inf automaticly set to Defense mode when on a ship?

If a station is capped and the jumpdrive is still recharging, how can it jump? will enemy ships pound it to pieces?


Okay. let's say you plop 6 elite inf onto a station.according to faustest, each inf has a 11% chance of capping, right? I mean for every 1 out 10 inf landed, one of them caps (according to mathmatical statistics anyway). so if two dreads land 12 inf on a station, it should, accorind to math it'll cap eventualy. is that fair? heck no. I mean, it's luck and such..but still..what can you do? nothing. why did i post this? no idea..


Okay. I think, stations should NOT be capple. I mean, if you had some kind of multi-trillion credit flying fortress thing, you would want some kind of autodefense system against it right? maybe make it some kind of ship system called "Ship Help Interior Guns" or S.H.I.G. Make it so it does lots of damage agaisnt incoming inf. maybe in (one of the/a) special slot?
