(yes, i have been watching battlestar galactica)

basically a munitions dump would be a player-built space station. the station could be placed anywhere on the nav map, HOWEVER, only 1 would be permitted per star system, and since theyre munitions dumps, and therefore have explosives in them, theyd be very easy to destroy.

itd have a repair bay so it could offer assistance to badly damaged ships and supply the ammo. munitions dumps would serve as last reserves for a fleet thats been routed from a starsystem, a place where if your fleets been badly beaten it can regroup before falling back to the next system to defend there. it could also be used as a staging area for a counter attack after a fleets been overrun.

the station would have a limited amount of supply points in its repair bay, so eventually it would run dry and become useless.

also, itd be cool if there were different types of repair drones, like ones that only resupply ammo, ones that only repair armour/hull, etc.

Sound one heck of a lot like the supply platforms from v1.482...

what would be cool would be a sattion were you could unload extra weapons and keeps them there. so you could have them close at hand when you need them instead of haveing to go back to your hs

Well, it is an interesting idea none-the-less. Perhaps supply platforms should have space where players can store troops and things. Not for individual players, but for the team. Or, maybe it should be by individual player, like accessing part of your storage (the part without ships). Dunno.

just as an add-on to this thought, it would be interesting if players could leave messages on these 'supply stations' in much the same format as the threads on these forums..just a thought.
