Does any other games work?
Try checking other recent games(to check if the other games have the same problem)... also downloading Updates and new drivers should help.

If it's *only* 8x AGP compaitbhle, make sure you MOTHERBOARD supports that
also, some motherboard needs mini-agp 8x drivers, look around for them on the companys website..if you can't find them..welll..you don't need them
Also, like somebody else said, check other games. if other games work, that means it's a DS problem, and you should reinstall it (or at least check the setup menu)...
If your other games DON'T work...I suggest making sure everything in your computer is in place (if you made it by hand, your seems not like a normal DELL)..also, i would sugest making sure the RAM is good, as BAD ram can cause the computer to do BAD stuff (it has happened to me)..
finaly, make sure your motherboard is updated....

hmm the drivers supplied by the various manufactors of those cards seldom work - i am using the version from the atiwebpage
6.14.10.6387 (the filename is: wxp-w2k-catalyst-7-94-030917m-0114343c) and i have no problems whatsoever as long as it's set to max. performance.

I too have had a new build since october and have experienced the same problems you have. I can't figure it as all other games work just fine. I've just learnt to live with the frustration of occassionally crashing out of the game, but it does make me reluctant to mod in FA.
ic7-max3
intel 3ghz
1 gig
radeon 9700
xp pro service pack 1
nothing overclocked
latest drivers from manufacturers' websites
9700 was in my last build so i'm reluctant to look there for the flaw.
More a sympathy moan than an expectation of a remedy. Hope you find a solution.

well i am using the 9700pro for over a year and after setting it to highest performance i have no problems (i am using an Asusmobo with 8x and SIS chipset)). driver is 6.14.10.6387 9/12/03 on w2k. if u have linksysNIC see if a swop to another brand solve the problem, they have a funky frimware.
btw the driver which came with the card and the one for download on the manufactoreweb didn't work, only the one from the ATI site.

Interesting. I wonder if this game doesn't like the 1 GB of RAM? I had an ATI card (Radeon AIW) and 512MB RAM, P4 1.7GHZ in my old Dell 8100 with no problems. With my new computer I got a Radeon 9800 and 1 GB RAM in a Dell XPS, and now I crash to desktop on occasion. Will update to the new ATI drivers just released, but I don't think it'll help. I've updated once already, and both sets of drivers did it. Anyone else with 1 GB RAM running this fine?

i have 2 sticks of 512MB DDR in it and even duomonitormode is fine - just running 2 clients simultaniously in windowed mode is not possibel if 1 is moved to the secondary monitor.
