I actually do support the "Hold Space Bar to shoot when reload is done".
Seeing as most Dreads cant really dodge, so you want have to manual det or do anything skillfull to kill them.
All you have to do is smash spacebar. Being able to hold it would really be a lot easier and better for my keyboard 
You really should write suggestion more clearly next time, everybody (me too) assumed you wanted it to be like Point Defense, only against ships
