Flip side is that effective anti dreadnought configurations and tactics should still be possible for smaller ships

I'm not sure if dreads will need more than the changes they are already getting, considering how hard they'll be to kill.

I mean, this has a point, sure, but it would lower the effectiveness of system damage (basically the only way to do significant systems damage would be to really toast all the systems at once- small amounts of system damage wouldn't be viable, not at all), and heavily nerf the K'luths auto repair function, no matter how you configure it.

They still would be, just swarm em until they're overwhelmed

I mean, when 3 destroyers can total a dread, that just doesn't seem right (esp. from an in-game pov, why spend money of big dreadnaughts when they get easily killed by ACs and dessys?). It should require 5-7 destroyers, or 4 cruisers to take on a dread.

So now that we've established that dreads should be more powerful than they are now... (duh.) What do you think to the acctual idea?

I wouldn’t worry though, the Balance patch will change the layout of every ship in ds.
Dreads will be beasts, just look at the bomber dread, it will have 9 MIRV bays

So? You can't cloud bomb anymore, so you only get the six(6) bombs in your bays and thats it. The new code doesn't let supplys resupply your bomb bays until your bombs explode. That totals out to something like 54 bombs.....Look at my ICC Defense bases quiver beneath their shields...Oh wait, bomber dreads are ICC.

And Battle Dreads are gonna end up with something like 55 systems. Holy crap! If you don't confuse yourself and manage to fight, it might be formidable. Let's wait until the patch and see what he has in mind along with the rest of the DEV team until we get too out of hand and unruly.

Of cousre, they could post stuff, instead of relying on word of mouth to get the word out. I've learned most of this throught sitting quietly in the lobby, which isn't fun someeimes. Anywho, I think they have ideas, and they have heard our complaining.
