all fighters got 1 weapon slot: icc: railgun k luth:psi ugto:particle

what about the ability to mod the fighters ?
-> Give the Fighter bay a ''weapon slot'' to modify. All fighters from this bay will have the weapon. Possible weapons are:
railgun, ar missle, particle canon, psi canon, sabbot, ( NO FLUXWAVES).....
to reload the wepons the fighters need to come back to the carrier

so that carrier ships will be used too... and even the carrier dread (UGTO) and the carrier cruiser ( ICC) would be able to do some damage.

I would like to point you to these post below.

ICC new fighters

As you can see all factions will be give new types of fighters..

Each faction has 1 fighter that they specialize on.

also the fighters shown there will have very different weapons on them than the ones now dont know the details though.

The coming fighter system adds a good deal of complexity for fighters. This system is going to be distributed accross several patches.

In the initial installment you will gain distinct interceptor, bomber, and assault fighters for each faction. Each fighter will have enhanced survivability when compaired to our current fighters, which are more like glorified missiles. Also, each fighter has a primary weapon. This weapon is used by that particular kind of fighter to fulfil it's mission goal. For assault fighters, it's an anti-ship missile. For bombers, it's a space to surface bomb. For interceptors, it's a beam weapon. Also, some of the fighters have a secondary weapon. This is used to fulfil secondary mission goals, or for defense. The assault fighter has a forward mounted rapid fire cannon. The bomber gets a 360 degree rapid fire cannon. The interceptor has no secondary weapon.

Later passes are planned to include concepts like variable fighter storage on carriers (sort of like cargo), fighters gaining experience points like troops, a greater variety of fighters, carriers storing fuel and ammo for fighters, and variable loadouts for fighters defined by the carrier ship.

Do then new ICC fighters have shields? I was never clear on that...

And how do you change the types of fighters you have? do you have to switch them in the port? or do the ships come with mixed fighters?

OH By the way, will planets be able to launch and control fighters the same way as ships can? so that planets would have like fighter patrols and suff flying around constatnly... If not that would be cool...

And what werre the thoughts on increased fighter diversity... I alwasy thought it might be neat to see a sort of patrol corvette kind of ship... for escort purposes, and maybe a recon fighter with no weapons but extremely high speed, and an ECCM or Scanner

No fighters will have shield generators (shield generator tech is a relativly new technology when compaired to armor). The ICC have been working on creating shield systems suitable for use on a fighter...

Initial revision of fighters (v1.482) is that fighters are attached to the fighter bay component. One component for each kind of fighter. They have to be changed out, like any other weapon. In a later revision, fighters will be detached from launch bays, and you will be allowed to mix the kinds of fighters you have in storage as a sort of ammo (or cargo, like troops). Fighters will always be restricted by faction. These are high performance craft, designed to work within very tight specifications. As such, you cannot use any fighters developed for use by any faction other than your own.

We are currently developing exactly how planets will handle fighters. Right now, we hope to have it so that each fighter base maintains a certain small number of interceptor and possibly assualt fighters up on patrol. Additional fighters would be launched by the planetary bases when enemy vessels are detected. Hopefully, we will be able to pull this off without causing undue stress to the servers.

A recon fighter (like the Raptor in Battlestar Galactica) is in the long range plans, along with some other kinds of craft. These will be included with a later revision.

it's been mentioned sometimes that icc will have the best bomber, UGTO have the best assault fighter, and K'luth have the best Interceptor. Is there any information on how each race's "best" fighter will be better than the other races fighters?
