Carefull with this Eye Candy stuff (esp. Bump Mapping) the effect interfaces on graphic cards are verry different and if your card dont provides the special functionality you will go straight to "performance hell"

Simple solution: Add on/off toggles for the processor intensive special effects, so that players can customize their visual experience. If they want to run the game beyond what is playable for their framerate, then that's their business.
