Why can't u go backwards in ships? We can do it in cars and ships (on a planet called earth) why not in a videogame called darkspace? Its simple yet whole lot useful this is something that should be easy to put in that everyone would like so why not do it?

Once again the topic of reverse speeds comes up.

Once again, we all feel this is a good idea.

So, rest assured, we have looked into this, and it IS on the chart for post-v1.481. Somewhere...

Actualy you do go in reverse. Think about it. In order for a dread ship to stop. You would need reverse in space. Other wise you would drift for a very long time. Instead we stop in rather short distances.
So yes there is a reverse. This is what Faustus has talked to me about it. Also how he sees things...

If you wanted to go as fast backwards as you go forwards you'd need engines the same size in the front of your ship.

Then the models would be REALLY ugly

Well actually there is a way to fly back, you just need to know how
Hint: It's the same way making a dread go 21 gu/s
