It would be cool if malfunctions were added into DS. Here are some exaples for when these systems are used:


Torps/Missles:
1. at 75% their range is reduced.
2. at 50% their range is reduced by more than before and have a small chance of exploding.
3. at 25% their range has been reduced severly and have a 50% chance of blowing up in their tubes.

CLs/Disrupters/Pulses:
1. at 75% range is reduced
2. at 50% their range and power is reduced
3. at 25% their range and power are severly reduced

FlUX:
Flux Beam:
1. at 75% range is reduced
2. at 50% their range and power is reduced
3. at 25% their range and power are severly reduced and have a 50% chance of releasing its charged energy into the firer.
Flux Wave:
1. at 50% Damage is reduced
2. at 25% Damage is reduced and charged energy has a 20% of damaging the firer.

Reload/Build:
1. at 50% build/repair speed reduced
2. at 25% build/repair speed severly reduced

ECM/ECCM/Cloak:
1. at 50% effectiveness reduced
2. at 25% effectiveness severly reduced

i posted about this a while back and i agree ....... if officers and crew were added they could be a factor too, elite bridge officers could even boost system efficiency, in a subtle way.....
in keeping with the nature of this thread it would be cool if the malfunctions due to damage could then be influenced by crew.... say for instance you lose a vet helmsman, and you got to replace him with a green, then damage plus lack of experience could cause engine related difficulties.

Yes i wish they did i mean i would love to be able to train mechanics or great officers. I suggest a building to replace the barracks called an academy. You could train mechanics, inf, officers, or even medics.

oh and for Psi missile

1. Make em TOTAL cloacked no rise in signature when you fire em.

75% Signature goes up.
50% SIgnature goes up reload time increased
25% Signature goes up Psi missile no longer cloacked, Reload severely delayed.

I do so wish they had crew, officers and skills. Even if it resets every time you die, it's even more motivation to keep your ship alive!

Of course, I wish Darkspace was 3d too... *sniff*

Fabulus idea. Crew would be WONDERFULL... get a ship, got get a crew based on your stats and off to war you go....This fits in REAL nice with ships that have rank and grow customized with longer survival...

I can't express how much I would love to have that much content. $10 monthy...easy.. I might even pay $20 for a game that was that indepth!

Crew, and possible officers, have been on the list for quite a while now.

They wil be included in the future. No set time-table for them at the present, but crew and officers mesh perfectly with our plan to make DS more of a strategy and tactical rather than an outright action game. Don't worry, action will still be a part of what you do.

elf beam
75 % reduced range
50 % reduced range and reduced recharge
25 % reduced range , reduced recharge and the posibility to not gain but lose energy to your target
