Personally i love the idea Enterprise. a ship capable of totally destrusction and able to destroy planet size targets in a couple hits.theyey would be the pride of each faction. availble only to the super elite its a great idea.personally id keep it enterprise's way. plus having a superdreads would cause more battles to happen in the Mv with larger fleets. in nearly a year of playin ive only seen or heard of one or two "large" battles. there would be battles of 150 ships goin at it becuz the super dread will bring that kind of attention in to the systems. honestly if u think a super dreads is a bad idea u should reconsider.

And this sounds more like what the Dev Team wants a Dreadnought to be. Come 1.482, they want Cruisers to be the backbone of a fleet, with a few Dreads to give it some extra punch.

Or something along those lines.

Of course I know its a supersized version of a Dreadnought, thats the point.

But I wouldent expect something of this magnitude until several more patches down the line, after everything is fixed and set to go.

This type of craft very vulnerable to long-range fire, and can only take down things that are at least within 750 gu of it.

A couple of Missle Destroyers with ACs could take one down.

But yeah, I agree with the toning down of heavy beams, maybe 3 or so [Full].

Also remove interdictors and give each ship only 2 reloads.

but decrease the charge time for the solstar weapon 1 week is way to long even for a weapon of that magnitude

I thinking of a Dread with this=

600 Ftorps with the range max of 150 gu
300 bombs at the range max of 200 gu
150 pule beams with the range max of 250 gu
15 IE
4 Light Armor
Super Hard Shield
250 Power Plants
500 infs
150 fighters
and what I like most a dock where smaller when dread can dock in the cargo room for a min or 2.
also only got 150 hull therefore if the shield and armor failed you dead (

Er.....the purpose for the SOLSTAR weapon for 1 week is so that it is only used in a very VERY seldom situation.

Its not to meant to be a weapon to be used when you want to but, when you absolutely, no other choice, need to.

Which is why it should be one week, and if not, EVEN more than that.

Its a powerful weapon, and therefor, should be constricted.

i don care how fast it goes, there's no way to balance something like that.

*EDIT*

btw your stated intention was to go between dreads and stations, however a ship of this type would have at least two, maybe three times the combat power of any station, considering the specials, defence, and offense.

just make a GUN platform ship type
it jumps in it fires its sideways weapons and it moves away from combat destroying like 2 ships
ill currently base the exemple for UGTO only
if you all like it ill try to ballance some ships out for the 3 factions

think this ship wil fit under the destroyer class only becous it must be easy to destroy
its just like the kluth a fragile ship but had hudge fire power and medium speed
