You've seen the heavy supply ship. Its destroyer class. This is not really much more different except for the torpedoes. The main reason I believe that no ship with drones have any heavy weapons, as this creates infinite missile fireing capacity. That isn't what scares me, though. What scares me is how many people would exploit this to gain the ability to lay infinite amounts of mines, solo. This would also probobly be even LESS manoverable then the destroyer class, as it keeps the same number of IE engines, but is a step up from the destroyer. 10 Pulse beams? That can also become 10 CL500s, and can do far more damage then a dred modded with 3 CL2k. These are more beam slots then the EAD/AD.

Based on the current frigate loadouts, and destroyer, loadouts, ICC in particular, this would be a DESTROYER. This ship would make bombing impossible for any other faction then ICC. 2 Pulse sheilds? Thats more specails there then you would find on most ships. Particularly the combat ships. And it looks like it would be a combat ship to me. 4 full Pulse beams? You don't get full lasers of that amount tell you get dreds. Agreed, frigates have 1 full cl300. Armor is too thick for a frigate class of the current type as well.

This is more assult scout version then the current UGTO one. Besides, there already is a scout that can have 4 sabots, and its known as the Recon Scout, I believe. Defence, again too thick for a scout. 1 full CL2K? Thats what your saying. K stands for 1000. But, 2 cl 300s? On a scout? Frigates don't even have that many. Besides, lets keep scouts for their intended purpose. And thats for scouting.

Firstly, the only full ITs are gotten from full Torpedo tubes, which evidently should not be. Default ITs are FORE only. Defence is too thick for even an ICC ship, even an ICC Missile Cruiser. I'll say this now, for your future reference. Scout-1 IE engine. Friage-1 or 2 IE engines, I can't remeber at this time. Destroyer- 2 IE engines. Cruiser- 3 IE engines. Dred-4 IE engines. Station-4 IE engines (K'Luth has 6 IE engines) Other then that, looks fine.

Okay, scouts arn't supposed to be able to kill cruisers. Thats effectively what this ship would be capeable of. Heavy Weapons are called that for a reason: They're HEAVY. 4 Torpedoes on a scout? Torpedoes are classified as a heavy weapon. The UGTO Scout only has 1 torpedo, 1 cl, and 1 beacon. Then it has the standard moving stuff. 1 IE engine, 1 Warp. Defence, again, too thick for a scout.

Again, same problem as last time, IT missiles are considered Heavy Weapons. Besides, AR/PSI missiles work just as good. And they're faster too.

Ion Cannons were once in Darkspace, they may be reimplemented at any time. They are considered the same as a CL. Basically, what you have here is a laser ship. Rail guns are fairly weak, might want to replace them with torpedoes or something stronger. Might want to add a few CL2k instead of all those CL500s. As well, it would be 4 IE engines.

You have effectively the UGTO Carrier Dred, with a few extras. This ship would suck worse then a station would suck. Then only foreseeable role this could possibly fullfill is to planet camp, or hang behind a fleet, launching fighters at enemies. In short, super vulnerable.

You effectively have the current station idea, with more lasers. Stations arn't for building, they're for defending built planets. They are supposed to be orbital (I STILL SAY THEY SHOULD BE IMMOBILE!!!!) defence platforms.

ok there are my ideals for new ships. look them over and FLAME AWAY! i mean it. i want you to TELL ME the BAD about theses ships and what you like about them



hmm... This would fit the role of assult station, but not invasion station. 16 lasers? Can you imagine how long a dred will be able to take that? 8 torps? Can you imagine how long the afore mentioned dred would live? Maybe a bit too powerful, maybe not. Its pretty close to the horizon in my opinion, but 16 lasers is too much, however.
