when you find yourself in the MV and maybe in route when you get a message to go to another direction.

how about not having to stop. could it be possible to Set New Destination?

I cant wait for the gates to be gone. : )

im hopeing that someday it would be possible to be more fluid with the jumps.. instead of straight lines.

I think Jumps can really only be in straight lines, laws of physics and all...

However

Plotting a jump near a Gas Giant or Star should bend the jump...Gravity wells clearly effect JumpDrives (interdictor) So if you have to get from A to C but B is in the way...Plot a course near a big mass of something so it bends you around. ---> The important thing would be to have the bends appear on the Nav Screen before you jump <---

You could plot a long course that loops you around a star, increases your speed, changes your angle to whip you around another large mass, which changes your direction again!

Not very pratical, but sure would be novel.

thats what my physics always tole me when we started taling about gravity wels
worm holes
and warp technology

just a aim your ship press the start button and press the stop button when every you like to stop + you are explorer so you gould explore new planets or systems by just ramming in to it
te only thing that can be dont is (like above) gravity wells
the only solution found is in the sifi series startrek
the slow down to warp 3 and than use there navigation defelctor to ajust the cohesion of the warp bubble

but we use tach drives
the just use tachion waves to push the ship

but this is all i have to say about physics other wise my brains wil pop

perhaps a set of waypoints so you don't have to do two or three jumps to get around things like stars, just one pre determined jump, either automatic or by the player, around such stellar objects

perhaps the explore option would be good, with like unknown points on the screen in the mv where planets/asteroids/nebulas/jumpgates/etc would be and you had to explore them (get within 1000gu) to know what's going on there, and you could get some form of experience with the exploration? groups would share exploration targets
a bit cheesy perhaps, but would encourage more travel in the mv, and would mean scouts may have a better/bigger role perhaps.
