giving the reactor damage protection negates that "get blow when damaged thing" eh?
by the time you worked down the armor of the reactor the ships is dead anyway, so all that stuff is kind of worthless, except for kluth wich will be able to volley torp after torp and never run out of juice.
Short:
More power for kluth (or anyone alese for that matter) = Bad !

We are currently exploring having all ships (including K'Luth) be, overall, more power hungry, not less. This runs counter to including some extra powerful reactor.
We also seem to be against any devices that fall under the category of "exploding your ship for no good reason" as this seems to hurt overall play experience.
