Alright something is wrong out here...there was just a battle in Luyten with Nuke Mines being the mainpart, a friendly dictor and my ship got totally crippled (at 90 hull) because a friend had to pulse a minefield which covered us (hey, thanks again mate)(luckily Kluth didnt notice)

Well...there has to be a change either:
- stronger systems or
- less system damage by nuke mines
and/or - arming time for nuke mines (it is not funny to fly into cloaked nuke mines of a cloaked dessie (I dont want to say anything about Kluth, it is just not funny))

Anyway, it should hardly be possible to have a totally crippled ship at 90 hull, there is something wrong with that

Nuke mines have been the same for quite some time .....

Im beginning to think that there are some peeps out there that are trying to make this game part of the UN .. or Politically correct.

- Cant do to much dammage
- Anything you dont agree with must be bugged, changed or flawed
- If you get killed it was becuase the enemy is uber
- Everyone MUST be the same

Ill leave it there cuz I promised Dem I would quit flaming peeps .... and I can feel it building up ...lol

I dunno, I think nuke mines are a bit extreme(systems damage wise), had a station the other day at 90 or 95% hull with total systems wipe out. Then it just becomes a game of making sure your repair bay is being fixed first, and hoping you get enough time to get the bays up and running AND fix your engines AND fix your jump drive.

Nuke mines make EMP mines obsolete. EMP mines might actually do a tiny bit more system damage but they barely scratch armor/shields. I experimented with them on ICC transports and bomber destroyers in FA/Cygnus a few months ago and it seemed like about 20 EMP mines going off at close range didn't even slow them down. Last night 24 nuke mines took a MV Ganglia down to about 50% hull and all stop, at least for a few seconds (long enough as luck would have it).

So, yeah, this is one of those cases where the balance seems out of whack. You'd think in the realm of give-and-take you'd have mines that do low sys/high ship damage (AM), low ship/high system (EMP) and medium in both categories (TN). In this case it seems like TN are more in the medium ship/high system category which leaves EMP out in the cold. Why bother?

Not a good idea to test system damage weapons on AI ships

I think spiritlift did some unintentional testing of emp mines vs a hive the other day, seemed to stop him dead in his tracks. Not sure how many other weapons were hitting him though, as I was on the other side of the planet where it was safe

maybe ICC should learn how to use pulse, the fact that who complains is ICC who has greater protection from nukes is hylarious

I like nukes just the way they are... I mean, its a friggen thermonuclear weapon in a contained magnetic field, of course its gonna make you a S.O.L... EMP mines should wipe out all systems for 10 seconds, that'd make them potent.

A temporary system damage effect sounds very interesting.

that is just the point, nuke mines make emp mines obsolete! a load of them kills all systems oif any hostile ship, so why should we use emp mines

you hear about that nuke bombs produce a heavy emp field??? ever saw james bond: golden eye??? nukes are suppost to destroy any electrical system nearby..

so if you want nuke mines with emp effect than make them proton mines or something that doesnt produce emp fields...
