I and many other have been in the old beta when DS was still free anyway i would like to see these old beta testers get theyr beta badge replace by an elite beta badge.
* ofcourse only when they test the current beta *
I mean we've been helping a lot longer and i personally am proud of it.
besides my ego needs some attention

JediKnight, it IS something special.
The beta days are very important to all of us. For many of us, those games were more fun than any game since release. The Beta Badge was created as a special gift to all those who participated in the pre-release beta, and it was intended never to be given to anyone else. If you'd been there you'd feel the same way.
I think there should be a seperate badge, aye. I'll make sure Faustus knows it, too.

as far as I was aware. thats what the Beta Badge is FOR.
Also, frankly I don't have super positive memories of the community back then

I would be honoured to have a current beta badge like the beta testers that have one now. I would not like it if everyone had the same badge as me when they were not there. I think there should be another style of badge offered.
I would really like to have that new badge though, so please do not get rid of the idea all together. Maybe it could be a " I survived the wait" badge.

Maybe you should make the new beta tester badge the elite one. Everyone knows when it comes to dreads the plain one is better than the elite version.

Why another beta tester badge? We have one and that is enough, what about badges for Mods to see that they are Mods when you look at their profile

People are actually going to receive a beta badge for the current test?????  I always thought the beta badge was for the cheap people who were lucky enough to get in while the game was free
But I'm all for the giving the guys who were here in the first place some more recognition. I think they should be credited with the luck they deserve for finding this game while it was still in its infancy.
What about a Bronze, Silver and Gold beta badge, depending on whether you were in the closed BB beta (probably only a handful of people), the Palestar Beta, and then the current Beta?

I think it would be cool to get a special badge for being in the old beta.
All us old fart vets who still play/follow this game maybe deserve a little respect for our loyalty? =)

OK? you say you need a badge to show off to other peolpe? Hmmmmm. Oh wait you have one and now you want another?
Example:
Joe: "What's that badge for?"
Tom: "Oh thats because I was in the game before it was released."
Joe: " Oh, thats cool, but what about this other badge, the elite one?"
Tom: "That badge means the same thing as the other one."
Joe: "So your telling me that the regaular beta tester's badge is the EXACT same as the Elite one?:
Tom: "yup"
Joe: "Ok, then why is this one called elite, what makes it elite?"
Tom: "I dont have any clue in the world"
Point of the story: YOU ALREADY HAVE A BETA TESTERS BADGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just give all the current beta testers badge holders the :
medal of : for there service to darkspace creation
or somthing like that for ther detication and service
what the normaly say in the army when the pin a medal on you
and give all the ones who just ceep wining about bea badge one
but make the new badge (the TRUW BETA BADGE) a link as wel to a page were F or anny other admin explains that these
WONT BE/CAN EVER BE GIVEN TO ANNY ONE AGAIN !!

Rather than an elite beta badge, I'd like to see a category under Ranking that lists everyone according to when they signed on. More for curiosity than anything else
