The last free week we had for the MV was disasterous. Basically, because of people making fake accounts, logging in, and sabotaging. We will not be doing another free MV week until planet controlls are installed.

After that, who knows?

@Barth

I don't think your comment is fair at all man. I play in scenarios about 90% of the time. I enjoy the strategy and teamwork of sceanrio play. I have never in my life prestige farmed and I have been with Darkspace for almost a year.

I would probably leave DS if the scenarios go away and that has no reflection on my passion for the game or my love for the game. I try not to get bent out of shape to much by what people say, but just because there are some of us vets who really enjoy the dynamic of scenario play doesn't mean we are any less fans and loyal to Darkspace =P

I to will most likely leave when the scenarios go. I love scenarios. The MV is just not fun for me, not nearly as fun as scenarios can be. I know several other people that like FA as much as I do. I know that scenarios will go sooner or later, I am just hopeing that the MV is acually fun by then. So I am with Warpath, if scenarios go I leave with 'em.

I know this is looking in the future, but if scenarios indeed arent able to fit within the upcoming code base, possibly it is possible to fit the scenario's inside the MV. Make a special jumpgate which allows travel to the MV-'Scenarios' not sure if this is doable but it would integrate SS with MV and perhaps this will coz die-hard SS players to look around in the MV as it is only a stones-throw away

And why dont you wanna play in MV?

Most players say cus its emtpy, this makes you wonder...
How come Mv is empty? cus people dont wanna play cus its empty? then how is it supposed to get full?

Anyway i still think going retail with Scen and MV would be a huge mistake, but thats only my opinion.

(PS: i still think that if someone leaves becuase Mv or scen would go away then you dont love Ds, but like i said my opinion)

i agree with barthezzz

the reson people dont like MV is becous not enough people are on it
so there fore MV would be lots more fun if you just try it some time

SS is ok but im not a hard core fan becous all it dose is reset every 2 hours and to me thats not much fun

The good thing about MV is, that you actually have changed strategies because of the movement of the planets
You can't always attack Dawn first, sometimes you have the deathstars next to it, then necroph is first
MV is fun, battles are not even rarely, if only 15 players are in it, and the factions are even, a battle will occur for sure, and it's even fun
Dodging the 20 incoming IT missiles in a tranny is always fun, try it
Sending a single fighter to the enemy (who doesn't know who is shooting) is fun too

Metaverse is not forced fun like the scenario servers, but that means diversity while playing

I cant wait to see Mv get:

  • 1: Bigger - The bigger the better, a universe is cool. of course well need diffrent ways of moving around cus a huge MV is no fun if you have to fly all the way trough. (Shipyards will help here)
  • 2: Economic system - W00t w00t!
  • 3: Polictic system - Just as w00t w00t.

Some of the big stuff that just comes up in my head.

Mv foreva!

Only the Metaverse...but with gates to Combat Servers within.

Players with lower ranks will have access to a Newbie Server that has a JG located in Every Faction's Home System. From there they can easily move back in forth from the Metaverse as a whole and this training center.

Scenerios or Combat Servers within the Metaverse give and take only 25% of normal prestige for Admirals and FA's; 50% For Captains to VA's and 85% to all Newbies.

I think this would encourage more game play in the MV. More folks in it = more prestige. People who play the MV now, naturally gravitate towards each other anyway. Usually there is 1 system that has 10 - 20 players fighting. Sometimes (and more often now) there are 2 systems with large scale fighting. Sure its no FA, but the stakes are a bit higher and the tactics abit more refined (well-l...maybe)

Come and drink at the fountain of my genius and modesty

The bottom line is this. People will play where quality game play is. If MV were more "fun" to play then the SS more people would play there. I object to the "I dont like it, so you cant have it mind set" Let people make their own choice, dont force them to fit your idea of how to play the game.
Create a reason to to play the MV, fix the gates, get planet ownership on line, get the politics and economies modules up and running, get the shipyards on line. Build it and they will come but dont shove it down anyones throat. Or Im with SkyLander.
If the decision on weither to keep or get rid of the SS is based on program limitations then the Game will have to evaluated in that light. It should not be based on "Not enough people are playing the MV so lets kill the SS".
I hope that Faustus can realize his dream of a distributed MV with personal maps being hosted on remote servers from all over the world. That was the reason I started playing this game in the first place.

Do not eliminate them, but call them battle training servers, and 1/5 prestige gain. That way to progress, people have to play MV, but to simply duke it out, they go to battle servers.

Shipyards will assist in this... but also this will lower the use of stations and we wont get a reocurance of what happeneds faction wars day when the server went down everyone went to MV and since the prior 2 days Kluth had attacked both the ICC and UGTO home sys and doing significant damage to the icc system they werent happy and took 5 stations to the kluth home sys (those stations were escorted by an uncountable amount of dreads/cruisers/dessies)... but since we were at our home sys it didnt take long for us to pull out 6 hives 8 dreads and some others

my 54.8 aussie cents (barth)

I think no, but i could crazy.
