i do rotate my armor, but i can tell you now, any smart person will NOT rotate armor in active combat unless he is fighting a ship that simply will not be able to damage him fast. When your really fighting someone, rather then rotating you should simply turn around and return the fire

The "arc" bug (where you take damage from weapons hitting outside a damaged arc) is more an issue of splash damage. Weapons in general are more powerful, and with this came an increase in the ammount of splash damage they deal.
This shows up most noticeable with torps. If your armor on one facing is down to 0, your hull will take damage regardless of where you get hit.

I THINK i have an idea as to what causes the arc bug, at least some of the time. I have seen this, and mildly tested it in game, but here's what I found.
I found that IF the FIRST damage you recieve in combat (taking you from perfect condition to damaged) occurs on your FRONT arc, then all damage after that seems to continue to damage the front. If the first damage is not to the front arc, the odds are far less likely that you will develop the arc bug. I have seen this happen to my ships in combat a few times, and it seems there is a relation between first impact on the front arc and arc bug. Someone can feel free to test it more closely, as I only really kind of noticed it while in real combat, so was a bit busy at the time.

uh, if ugto are allowed to rotate armor then really what's the difference between shields and armor? (except that armor can be repaired) that seems kinda silly to me... sounds like an exploit any way u look at it, as ur armor can be repaired (both in and out of combat by a sup) faster than shields can be recharged.
advantage ugto...

You're not allowed to replace it with armour in cargo, just swap the plates. And it's rather hard to do at that.

Takes some real skill to do that in combat while keeping all of your depleting energy on one shield facing I'm still workin on that part...

It's a skill that all icc players must have, really. Anyhow, I disagree with what was saod about armour repair speed - icc shields regen WAY faster than armour + 2 reloads.

Depends how you fly, but ultimatly, shields regen quicker than armour being repaired. You'd need about 2+ to out-regen a shield, and remember armour has more hp, so takes longer to repair.

Well, I did the math for a heavy cruiser without energy problems, its 2 minutes for a full recharge on all shield banks with level 10 actives...
