I wanted to name a ship "UWS Griffin". But when I typed UWS Griffin, it shows UWS. Why?

You need quotation marks  .
Also, just a reminder:
ICC is C.S.S (Confederate Star Ship)
UGTO is U.W.S (United Worlds Ship)

when doing multiple words you have to use a _ for example
"UWS_Blizzard"

If I recall correctly, the way we ultimately settled on it was that CSS (Confederate Star Ship) was the old-form used in the earlier days of the ICC. The modern Confederate Navy uses ICS (Independent Confederation Ship).
Hence why it shows up on all the AI names.
