Command ships should be able to reduce the time it takes to capture a planet.

Same for the Command stations.
Since there are no Command functions in this game ATM, why not make the Command ships worth something other than being a multipurpose target.

It does. Use it to bomb the enemy infantry on the planet you're trying to take over. Super happy, quick cap time!

Fairly sure that command ships are slated to have (in Two Weeks™) a set of "command devices" that can be swapped with each other to provide bonuses to nearby ships. One that increases capture rates might be feasible, but I don't know what's in mind for them.

Command ship has build drone, mining beam and bombs.
Aka lots of plats and no surviving defenders, which are worth nearly 3 ships worth of captcha power. What was supposed to be 1 vs 3 becomes 1 vs 0
Anyhow, capture rate is capped so you can't make it faster than a certain point (1.6/second as minimum time is 5 minutes). Not really important to make a command ship worth 2 or more ships (which, because of having bombs and build drone, should be already worth more than 1 ship).

Command dread is as weak as a combat cruiser but as slow and big as a dread.
With 1 mining beam, 1 build drone, it doesn't good at anything, except presenting prestige to red target(s).
I would love if command dread has 3 bombs, 3 PSM, 3 heavy cannons, 1 core, 6 beams, 1 heavy beams, 1 mining 1 tractor, 2 build drone. No fighter because bomber fighter is useless atm. And we don't want another combat-spamming ship. Trade 1 core weapon with repair drone is extremely awesome.
Command Station? It just needs popcorn and coca.

i know with the luths brood it has 4 bomb racks, and 2 fighter bays. it sucks in combat but have better surviablity in combat incase your jumped by enemy ships.

when ever i am given a time estiment for new features.
i always add at least 2 weeks to it. (just because i understand that the unperdictible happens alot with making games)

Judging by my super-secret insider info, command dreads will have bomb racks no longer, which I think is a fair price to pay considering their proposed command devices and rather scary armament.
Bombing should probably be left to specialised bombing ships, in my opinion.
