I suggest to give players a line like AI ships get when they receive an order. This is to allow players to see their target easier. Might also add a waypoint on the tactical and navigation screen like the target mark, but in a different color (red = attack, blue = defend ... )

In 1 of 7 tests i had my order shown in F6, but that also only for a second, then it disappeared. So F6 does not show it already.

May also add a shortcut to select/lock on the actual ordered target object.

Command ships should be able to give orders to higher rank players. Or even allow ONLY command ships to give orders.

More advanced: Selection of many objects/ships (mainly AI) at once and possibly grouping (like in RTS games) to give all the order at once, im not sure if that is already possible.
Setting AI behaviour to Hold Position or Stay in Formation (relative to Command ship). Like Shadow as easy solution, next step would be to also to turn the Formation when Commandship turns. That would make all ships in formation orbit it a litte bit.

AI would be useful if they'd keep mashing spacebar and not give up and turn tail once thier armor reaches 80%. Buncha cowards they are!
