I was noticing that the piercer is a energy hog. Ok i get that and its fine. But you would think on a ship that is a energy hog it would have a generator. I understand that would create to much energy generation on the piercer and overpower it.
My suggestion is to add a gernerator but increase interdictors device energy usage on the piercer. just a asthetic change but would seem more in place. [ This Message was edited by: Invisible on 2010-11-24 17:30 ]

1) Fly the piercer at 8 gu/s, don't use torpedoes, minimize use of beams, and you'll do fine.
2) Postpone suggestions for cruisers-stations and the support ships until they're released.
[bonus] 3) Don't use the interdictor field continuously if you want to fight. Stations sending fighters? Cloak to shake them off, then decloak and activate the dictor field again. Stupid corvette trying to take you out? fry it with lasers, stick a torpedo or two onto it, turn off the dictor field for some time to get energy, then continue.
Find remedies. They help.

There's another thing that you can do now, but I am curious to see if anyone gets it.
I think he is only asking for it for looks though....

ya i got no problem with the functionality. just the asthetic looks and "realism" using that carelessly i know this is a game and futuristic.
just if i was going to put something on a ship that used alot of energy i would also place a generator on that !**##%&~ (if this was the future and i was a ship designer in real life)

no factions dictor has a aux power gen. its done that way to limit the combat effectiveness of the dictors. you pretty much have the choice of sitting there to keep up with your target, or firing and running outta power.

Need to remove the piercer from the game, or at the least the cloak from it.

Thats a good thing for my propasal actually. that way power use cross faction for the Interdictor device can be increased. yet it still have that asthetic slot for a aux gen.

no, that would be the same as icc's dictor losing shields, and ugto's dictor losing a layer of armor. piercer armor wise is the weakest and easiest to kill outta all 3 dictors. Granted it may be able to cloak, but when it does cloak it has to stay cloaked for 15 seconds, giving enemy ships a chance to flee.
**edit, why does everyone always pick at luths faction ability to cloak? is it not the same as icc's faction ability as shields and ugto's ... heavy armor, and emp/system damaging weapons? ** [ This Message was edited by: Borgie on 2010-11-17 19:28 ]

with all due respect, why increase power useage of the indictor, just to add an aux gen, it doesn;t make sense for me.

It would not be the same, there is no shield or armor glitch that lets them have the field active while being nigh impossible to kill. The cloak bug in itself is annoying (for luth too), but combine it with an Interdictor? I've seen that one happen a depressingly large number of times.

ROFL.
In that case let's remove all dicos from the game and dumb it down.
I'd suggest removing the ICC AD but that would be just for fun, and probably similar to what you just said.

piercer doesn't need its cloak removed...
but it would make sense to have an aux gen and higher energy usage,
but
DarkSpace+Reality/Realism/Common Sense=unknown bad thing

All dicos should drain energy at about the same rate, regardless of faction.
Anyway they already do have sufficient drain. I've not seen a dico that can sustain high speed, fire away non-stop and still keep the dico up for extended periods of time.
If the dico can avoid fire and keep its field running, it's more attributed to pilot skill than the ship/device itself being OP.

There needs to be a rethink on the kluth dictor because it has a faster JD.
That might be a fraction aspect of kluth but it makes the kluth dictor slightly overpowered.
