I was wondering if you could write some kind of code that could Prevent Major Pres Lost from the Res lost, i mean its not fair for someone who gets promoted and then dies seconds later to be demoted its a pain in the ass really, i'd just like some kind of system where you wont have to lose so much pres to a dread or station....i mean come on 1200 to losing a station is beyond Rediculous especially to those of us who earned our ranks and love to keep them

I agree that some ships have values that are too high (UGTO Battle Station being the highest at 1200+). I'm pretty sure we're reducing resources lost in 1.484, smaller ships won't notice it so much, but I'm again pretty sure that the larger ships are getting a reduction (mostly Dread and Station).

Anything from Scout > Cruiser are for the most part, acceptable (although I think the cruiser might need a bit of a jigg).

It might be an idea to just set the resources lost value to the ship itself, and not the components on it, or anything like that (that way the UGTO Battle Station won't cost as much, and the K'luth Nest won't cost so little (in comparison)).

It is on the list to be looked at though.

Although one could fly a bigger vessel, getting promoted doesn't necessarily mean you should a bigger ship. That being said as Jack mentioned the smaller ships (read: below dread) seem to have prestige loss that feels consisent to the ship class. Albiet any loss hurts when you are trying to gain prestige.

the players that get promoted and demoted 10 sec later are the ones that wanna test that new dread out and get killed cuz well theyr new with it..

get some fat *prestige wise* b4 your going out it does wonders to safe a mans ego

We won't be adjusting prestige loss or gain any time soon. There are already enough changes happening that will have an innate impact on these values.

Combat prestige will be easier to get due to lower armor values, and this increase also affects the amount of supply prestige available. Other planned tweaks to ship layouts will also have an affect.

We will certainly be re-evaluating these changes to see what affect they have on the whole loss/gain equation after .484 goes live, but there is no realistic way for us to do so before then, and trying to do so will be a big mistake.

Adding to what Drafell said, because of lower armor values, there will be less resources lost when dying, so less prestige lost - how much though is anyone's guess.

Only changes I can see needed would be the Stations pres lost, but other then that.. Ships are going to be alot harder to kill, and the pres wont seem like such a big loss..
