Whats the use of home system gates in MV? Suggestion for use: ships in storage. |

Now, in the scenerios home gates are essential - as they were when the MV first went up. What good are they now though?
Given the recient (and excellent!) change to Shipyards - how you can only spawn at your ship's home gate - and the fact that the only way to get from one cluster to another is by wormhole, I was thinking that you could get some use out of the home gate yet.
Make it so that there are only two places you can spawn, your ship's home planet and your faction's home gate. I say this for two reasons -
1) home system defense should be any fleet's main priority. A faction's home system should be the hardest system to cap, and as such should be easily accessable by all of the factions ships - regardless of SY requirements. You should still only be able to spawn newbie ships fresh from the home gate, but any ships in storage should be allowed to be pulled through.
2) Ship modding. I won't lie, I hate stock parts, and want to mod my ship to the best of my faction's ability. I last longer and have more fun that way - win or lose. If my ship is spawned in a combat system, and not all the best tech (or any tech at all) is available, I should have the ability to return to my home system and fully use my faction's abilities and acquisitions.
