Since there are a lot of ds players becoming 1 and 2 years old i suggest a long service medal!
say: 1 year=bronze, 2 years=silver, 3 years=gold?
needs some work!
maybe it could be linked it to fleets as well??
just thought it would be nice to have to earn some shiny new medals since i got my last one well over a year ago now :/

I like the idea a lot... at 2 years we should get a QSB.... that is my opinion though.

Given, almost everyone at that veterancy (2 years) has possession of a Beta Tester Badge, which was a gift for being in the Open and/or closed beta.
Though, I doubt veteran players will be awarded in anything uber. I personally dislike seeing the QSB anywhere in DS unless it is very very hard to get.

i like the idea of the medal...though no ship should equire the badge..i also think that the badge shouldbe iven to fleets and the fleet leaders whjo originally founded the fleet should be given it...

A Badge that doesnt give you anything would be nice though.
Just a small reward for not switching your subscription over to some other game

This is a badge based purely on veterancy, not Fleets and Fleet Leaders. To give a badge to someone else for an entirely different reason than what the badge was supposed to represent for makes the entire point for a badge moot.
PS: As said, theres already a "Veterancy" Badge, known as the Beta Tester Badge.

Beta Badge is for the Beta Peeps. If you want a new badge, create one that means something special....create a Time Played badge. ANyone can sit in a chat room for two years...award the ones playing the game.

Ok, I played Counter-Strike from the very first beta, and I used to think like all you chaps with the Beta Badge. Who are all these n00bies coming in with their ideas for changing mygame? Why are these new kids coming in here and talking mess on my stomping grounds? And where is my patch?
(The Last one is, of course, the most common.)
