I was sitting around in the lobby after playing a mod on HL called Scientist Slaughter House. I know that might seem weird but one of the weapons was a one "Orbital Plasma Cannon". Bombard a small area with large and lethal plasma blasts.

I was thinking that do further help defend planets (possibly in the MV only)
we could have Plasma Cannon bases or something like it on planets, to ward off those pesky Dreads and Stations coming to cap a planet.

They would be like a regular Def-base, and they would shoot faction specific, maybe, torpedoes at attacking dreads and stations only, because they would be bad for smaller ships, getting blasted away pretty fast.

Construction costs : 10 Power, 500 metals, 10 both of Urdanium and Hypermatter, Same # of workers for reg. Def-Base

Limit them to maybe 5-15 per system, 3 on one planet max, must be in seperate hemispheres, because 5 on one planet would make sure no large ships could get near and cap..

Just another weird idea..
