Ok i've heard a lot of talking about blackmarkets and stuff so thought i post my idea for them.

The blackmarkets are stations that appear blue * friendly to ALL until you shoot em *

These stations are like starports to planets except THEY HURT!!.
All factions can sell/buy at one of these stations but factions dont have to be friendly to eachother around one, this prevents it from being " to easy "

Now these stations are outlawed by each of the factions goverments...
Theyr ancestors were sent into the outer reaches of space never to be heard from again until now.

The outer reaches are infested whit Pirate fleets.... unlike the ICC however they never managed to get a central goverment so they are " not nice "

The fleets are AI.... make it so that AI ships only give 50% of normal prestige to prevent farming.

To get to a station one will need to get PAST these fleets either by force or by being a sneaky devil.

Once you are near on of these Blue stations they will reload/repair you and when you "orbit" them you can buy/sell parts.

Selling parts will get you 10-20% better sale price than a local friendly starport however is it worths the risk?

Buying here will also mean 10-20% higher prices.... you will however be able to mount em
Faction tech excluded ofcourse.

Tell me what ya think about it.

Very good idea....to add, i think that the fleets should include ALL of the factions ships working together to make it harder...maybe groups of 5 or more...anyways VERY good idea...

perhaps...some form of contraband should be added....like as a high price comodity that could be traded through planets, but if you're caught taking it by AI authority ships (say ships that police UGTO, ICC and K'luth borders) then they will attack you, or disable your ship and take it off you with a hefty fine...or something like that.

well that would be nice if ICC and UGTO and K'luth had borders...

oh by the way, in this game YOU ARE THE POLICE lol so, here's the Idea revised

... maybe the new AI civvie ships (those are going to be in the patch eventually) should go to these black stations to buy Illegal duty-free contraband... like errmmm Bran Muffins

anyway, if you catch them at the station, you are allowed to open fire on them, but BE WARNED, the Black Marketeers don't like people lighting each other up at their station... they will open fire on BOTH parties
(all hell breaks loose)

For goods to be in demand, players must want them. If you create stuff to trade with planets and other ai entities, it would be a merchant trade system, but not a black market system. The black market is trading to other players things they want. What sort of things do players want? Well atm ship equipment, with the patch, inf too (but for friendlies only). The only thing I see that you can add, short of unproducable equipment, is maybe a way to manufacture specialty equipment by say, collecting the required resources and then selling them to a manufacturing plant on a planet which will then build the item for you. Each faction only has 1 of these plants on their home planet producing these items, so the only way to get these enemy specialty items is to capture their home planet, obtain the required resources, and get them to the plant before the planet is re-captured, or trade for them. That would be a good black market system.

True but if you make it that Metals earn you 10% more of the buy price than you CAN get some cash out of it...

to get cash in a nice ammount however you will need to fly transport/freighters resulting in a giant leap to the danger zone

if they allow them, they need to be undestoryable...OR no pres gain, cuz people nomatter wat the pres gain is, they will just sit around in the MV attacking and destorying them, They of the combat damage pres gains you would get from it, they need to be undestorable or no pres gains from it
