Everyones knows the K'luth are powerful right? And that UGTO have to few player base for their ships right? Well maybe the K'luth don't need a nerfing but maybe the ICC and UGTO need an upgrade. For instance in the case of armor the K'luth have less. But that doesn't affect things much because a K'luth can skewer just about any ICC or UGTO ship before damage becomes a problem because all faction's ships have exactly the same hull in each class, like a cruiser K'luth has the same hull as UGTO or ICC. And armor only gives an advantage in really small ship battles. In the case of cruisers, dreads, and stations the few thousand armor points don't stack up as much of an advantage when put next to the dreads 500,000 hull points(the most recent hull value posted) armor has like 20,000 right? Most commonly used ships can blast thru a heavy armor quite easily. And the hull values of even a dread can't stand much battering so if more armor was added maybe it would counteract the heavy damage caused by K'luth.
To summarize maybe just slap a few more layers of armor/shield on UGTO/ICC ships and see what happens. And adding a few more engines to balance out the extra weight so the ships keep at there current top speeds and acceleration wouldn't hurt.

Good thinking and analysis, but since the patch (with many balance changes already implemented including the addition of Medium Beam slots, which will make Kluth CL2k-less) is coming out so soon, I think we should wait and see how things go before we look into these changes.
I still like the thinking though

what ever happened to thos plans about scaling armor/shielding with hull?
