The issue was caused by the original models all being modeled on different scales. So no simple modifier was available, the only way to figure it out is to import a proper size model (ie a box in the right scale) and rescale the model till it matches.
We can go through and fix the scaling, ICC was done first, Pirates should have been built at scale. It wouldnt take to long to fix the rest.

I was the Ganglia and No ship unless it's a dedicated PD should be able to negate a missile salvo from the MD.
Your Ball.
Edit: Stations fall in the Dedicated PD Catagory.

As posted above support ships although they are not combat ships they should have enough armor and defenses to survive long enough to do their job.

Wrong.
Support ships are supposed to be defended, and brought into direct combat on sparce occasions, not to sit there all the time and expect not to be targeted.

I cannot find Upgraded Build Drones or ally ships for sale anymore in Beta. Have they been removed on purpose?

Rescaling the models will also mean retexturing them. Otherwise you'll end up with models with varying detail size; eg: dessies with windows that are 2 floors high or dreads w windows for hamsters to look out of.
Do you have a guide on model size?
How abt releasing a 3ds/max file of a 10m by 10m cube as a size/scale reference for model contributors?

We can scale the ships using the Resourcer, which requires no re-texturing or editing of the original model .

ship scaling is a nice cause, but i would love for new player created models by Kenny, LoA and others i think this is the biggest over sight of this new release. New ship models to atleast differenate the different classes adds to immersion. i know the ICC and UGTO need new models not for all ships just a few.

It actually depends on whether the ship was UV mapped/textured. Cos then, they would have a sorta fixed "skin" on the surface. And scaling it up and down would scale the textures too.
That's why i was mentioning windows that would be of inconsistent size relative to each other. I'm a stickler for details like these. One of the few things that can depict or portray the size of the ships are the windows.

I heard they got removed to make things slower. I couldn't find them either.

I looked at the models last night and it wont take long to fix the scaling...
Right now the UGTO Cruisers are at scale 1.30 and need to be at 1.45 like the ICC cruisers are.
That not the issue, what is is after we fix the scaling, we then need to go back in and realign each of the devices, namely the engine exhausts and weapons points so things still match up. that part is time consuming.

on a side note stations and heavy dreads need cannons to provide a means to hit smaller ships. or a AOE field that damages cruiers and under cause as i see it now a few cruisers can qork over an entire fleet cause of the lack of fast tracking weapons.

thats good. deploy your own cruisers! This patch will force balanced fleets(hopefully)

Scaling is such a non issue, i wont mind if it dont make it into 1.67.
Im just happy the whole dev team knows that it is the way it is. Im sure you guys will get around to making it right eventually.
