There seems to be confusion about what COBing is. I will try to clear it up here once again.

It is important tro know that the game was not designed to allow bombing within very close range of the planet. At one time it was impossible to launch bombs in a planet proximity of less that 100gu. The limiter got lost in an update, but the reasoning behind it still applies. Hopefully it will be reimplemented in a future update.

The 100gu is measured from the surface of the planet.

This rule applies to FRIENDLY as well as ENEMY planets! Surely one can argue that bombing the friendly planet makes no difference. The game design however is to prevent bombing under this range PERIOD. Additionaly bombing your own planet at close range prevents the attacking ships from destroying your bombs

I hope this clears up the ruleing.
