Hmm, since Faustus is implementing trading, credits etc...and hopefully MV will evolve further, Im thinking of starting up IGC (InterGalactic Council). Basically for clan diplomacy, trading, bargaining, etc...
Perhaps have diplomats or clan leaders later in the future, trade things, make alliances, arrange escorts, buy protection, buy things, etc...
It will also govern the rules for the 'clans' I believe. Kinda like how Dune goes...set the rules for the wars, prizes for winning it, etc...Things you can and can't do (well shouldn't). Pirates and mercenaries won't be 'bound' by these rules, as they're supposed to be ruthless 
All in all, this all adds up to be an interesting concept.
Hopefully that's how MV will turn out to be Let me know with some feedback, this in diplomacy, because it concerns all the diplomats of each clan or their clan leaders.
