The Triumverate - Official Alliance
On this Sunday, March 23 2003, it has come to pass that all fleets and all independants of all factions have been, and are being, called upon to join forces and arms against a common enemy. This enemy has long been the mysterious, elusive nemesis of all fleets and starships, from the early days of the war to the present.
It often strikes without warning, obliterating ships and entire assault/defense squadrons with a single salvo of its mighty weaponry, and then remains in the area to entrap and implode all those foolish enough to attempt to fight back against it. With massive tractorbeams that strike from the darkness of space without being seen or detected, entire planetary populations are instantaneously decimated by vessel collisions. It tricks your vessel's sensors and even your crew's eyes into believing they are on safe ground when they are in fact being enveloped by the enemy. Indeed, it uses the minds of warring factions to achieve its own goals by making you think you are achieving yours. It forces you to use your own strength to defeat the enemy then destroys you at your weakest moment!
Yes, my friends of Sirius and CD*36, extraterrestrials and fellow humans, I am speaking of the great lag-beast. We can no longer allow this foe of humanity and k'luthkind to exploit us as servants! We will not live as slaves! Do you not see the horrible truth? We must unite and destroy lag entirely by choking it of what it needs most: our servitude!
Henceforth, I urge all members of all factions to agree to the following terms:
1. There shall be no defense bases or fighter bases on any of your planets. Scrap all existing defenses to reduce chance of lag seizing your systems!
2. There shall be no laying of mines at any time. All minefields are to be detonated/cleared when sighted.
3. There shall not be attack forces greater than one vessel at any time. Too many ships in an area will cause too many weapon salvoes and will open the dark passageways of the lag-beast! Which brings us to...
4. There shall be no discharge of weapons. This, too, is just a welcome-mat to our greatest foe!
5. There shall be no Starports. See reason for #3!!
VIVE LE TRIUMVERATE!!

*Speech given by Lieutenant Commander JackSwift on UGTO/K'luth/ICC Triumverate*
Today my crew almost became victims of this malicious foe, the lag-beast. Luckily after being frozen in the space/time continuum it spit me out no more than 4 gu away the planet Uma's surface. Luckily I had my engineering officer shut down all AntiMatter devices... which my science officer theorized that may be causing the monster to see our ship like some sort of beacon. Until further notice we will be running under normal propulsion until AM devices are deemed safe for interstellar travel.
I don't know why the beast decided to save my ship, but one thing is certain, this threat must be eliminated. Because while it is around... no ship is safe... and I, and hopefully all species whether is be Human or K'luth, will not rest until this beast is defeated.

nah, it'd be better spending to take that 4 million and dangling it in front of his face.
then he might release the patch. give it to him and he'll sit on the patch some more.

Message as follows:
ON date 21-03-2003 the Lionclaw encountered this creature codenamed The Beats by command. In mere minutes the 8th BG assigned to the 382nd was decimated and the Lionclaw had suffered major damage to all sections, 60% of the Lionclaw's crew had died in the attack. Th Beast could not be detected, though its presence was palpable. In the end the Lionclaw somehow either extended past The Beasts range or the creature broke off after a new target. A way must be found to identify, scan and destroy this abomination before it causes further devestation. The Beast must be eliminated, regardless the cost.

I would like to suggest adding a term which will eliminate lag altogether:
6. There should be no players whatsoever!

Hah--- you fools!!!
The lag beast is just another one of Chromix's scripted AI players!
You all heard about the MI faction, right?
It's here, and it 's conquering all the servers.
I'm switching to the MI faction as we speak!!! Next time you experience lag, think of me!
