In hopes of making it easier for people to check what has been changed, edited, removed, etc, between updates, this topic should now be the vocal point of all Cruiser layout feedback. Please keep feedback constructive and to the point. All off-topic or pointless chitchat will be removed (so no +1'ing).

Another topic will be created when the Dread layouts are ready for discussion, right now they are still being implimented and discussed.

It'd be nice to know the precise figures for what the ELF beam actually does. Its hard to gauge the effectiveness of what the Parasite does really, it does lots of heavy beam damage - with multiplexers you can easily ruin one arc of any cruiser and hull a destroyer. But those ELF beams are a bit of a mystery. Do they scale with multiplexers? Do they drain a good bit of energy?

Just an honest question for me, since the Parasite seems to focus around these rare beams.

ELF are not included with enhancements due to the nature of how they opperate (we don't want to see Cruisers sucking 48% more energy, which would be way more than the leveling moddifier).

They're fine as is, and as per usual, you won't ever get precise damage numbers.

2 things basically

- ICC Strike Cruiser
The first time I entered Beta, the SC still had its 5 ICs and no armor.

Why change it to an armored ship with 3 ICs? Is that the final plan?

- Parasite
The Parasite is usually the first cruiser that a Kluth pilot will take upon getting the needed rank. An all beam ship is not really the ideal way to go.

It should lose 2 beams for a couple of heavy PSIs.

Seems like the easiest thing to do would be switch the reqs for Scale and Parasite.

Yeah, I just went back ingame. Saw that it's at 5 ICs and no armor. From what I read, they planned to change it.

Anyway, I flew ICC and tested the SC against a variety of ships. It's most effective against dreads and stations. It's vulnerable to dessies and frigs, 'cos of its lack of armor.

In a cruiser vs cruiser fight, the SC is better keeping at least 600GU distance, zigzagging and using broadside IC shots while running away at full speed. If the enemy point jump you, short jump out and continue the attack.

But really, it's only really effective against slow moving targets. Other cruisers will murder the SC upclose.

ICC gets their line station to go i guess

I think i was most opposed to it because of fear that the other two factions were getting core weaps on cruisers. Could you imagine 6 si on a cruiser?

SC also has that nifty hole in the aft where it cant shoot. Easy to counter, and shall force UGTO out of their big ships. I dont see the SC being affective against kluth at all.

Against stations...or if it is sitting back with some ECM cover while the main group move in and attacks the luthies it could sit and fire...untill some luthie gets smart and jumps it

ICC have one ship effective against K'luth. It's also the last ship you get.

As far as I can tell, the cycle rate for the ICs on the cruiser is faster. Having 4 on fore and 3 on broadsides would be acceptable to me, just make sure it keeps the shields (take an aux gen if you're concerned about power drain) .

Yeah, weapon leveling, they're on a Cruiser as opposed to a DN or Station so it's got weaker damage and faster firing.

A couple of SCs may make good escorts for ADs. ADs being the pri target, the SCs can keep up fire on the enemy station/dreads, and also assist the AD should the group get jumped.

In any case, the SC needs another combat escort. At least a HC or AC close by.

So far i see:-

-Parasite needs a decent buff to the energy
-SC needs a gen taken off, but can be beaten with it on by a scale.

-HC vs BC is pretty balanced, would say the HC has the edge slightly tho.
-AC is an energy hog using just torp(apprantly, although i find it's a similar drain to SC using 5 IC with a aux gen)
Definatly loses all energy too fast when beams are used. Barely energy enough to kill a BC from behind at 15-20 gu/s.

- TC vs SC is pretty even, SC won with 3% hull left but had 48% weapon plexers compared with a trail, zlarr, bench, Def Power and 4 Weapon plexers on the BC

-Frogot from the other thread, Dictors can run for 6 minutes+ at 20gu/s, 7 minutes on ICC.

I'll add as i find stuff!

Super Edit: Ever have those feelings your Post has been edited. *Ahem Turning*

Please keep feedback to things about the Cruiser layouts, and nothing else. If you don't, you risk your post being removed. Thanks.
