I am going to loose my job along with 1800 other hourly associates...

If anyone knows of any decent paying jobs, 12/h or more, in thier area please let me know.

The closing will cost the local economy 55.9 million US a year (very low estimate) but more likely 75-80 million.

Please only serious help. This is no joking matter.

Sorry to hear abt that. Times are indeed bad.

Perhaps you could list out what you were previously doing there, along with your skillsets and/or qualifications, so that ppl could match you to something suitable?

I had to turn them down due to Class.

Well, you can try contacting Denso, in Alcoa, Tn they pay around that starting out i think and are often hiring. Also i think the volkswagon plant in Chattanooga may be hiring. I will inquire my fiancee's father about that.

Ouch...

I'm afraid I can't help since I live in another country, but I can at least wish you luck.
Don't give up.

I doubt its worth mentioning as I to live in another country, but there is a lot of work here in Canada (mainly Alberta) in the oil and gas industry as well as the forestry industry all over Canada.

For something closer to home maybe look into the coal industry in your area, I have a friend in Pike Creek and he makes very decent wages working in the mines and supports his young family doing so.

Hope this helps!

I hear the natural gass industry is booming in Penn.

Also hear good reports on the economy from family in Texas, around the Dallas area.

Might be relevant as the one state which tried this method has lowered its unemployment rate and has increased oil production.

I have heard that Boulder, CO has been largely unaffected from the recession and is seeing growth in aerospace and defense industry.

Jtekt in Vonore is hiring, im fairly certain, and the Volkswagen plant in chatanooga is hiring for the production line. I dont know how much these places pay but i would guesstimate they are around or more than what you are looking for.
