Astronomers say they have for the first time spotted a planet beyond our own in what is sometimes called the Goldilocks zone for life: Not too hot, not too cold. Juuuust right.
Not too far from its star, not too close. So it could contain liquid water. The planet itself is neither too big nor too small for the proper surface, gravity and atmosphere.
It's just right. Just like Earth.

Human Empire? I think you better worry about the American Empire a little bit more. The Human Empire will never exist, because quite honestly. We already have problems on one planet. So you expect us to go out there and take over planets? All I have to say is lololol. Even if it was that type of planet, It doesn't mean that life exists there as we know it.

Ugh, I hate how these things devolve into "evil grubbing humans!" pretentio-fests. We've got thumbs and rockets! Let's go get it. Status quo has to end sooner or later for everything, whether it's a giant hunk of minerals zipping through space, or colonization.

Hopefully the first of many in our solar neighbourhood. I'm more interested in when or if they will get to work on terraforming Mars considering its within our technological reach... Going to another system is probably not going to be something we're capable of until the 22nd century if not longer

terraforming mars would take thousands of years, probably more
and it would still suck after
itd actually be easier to just switch mars and venus. they'd both be perfect if they were in opposite positions. unfortunately if you wanted to do that you shouldve done it a few hundred years ago, most of venus' water is gone now.
