This is my laptop config:
Acer AS5740-6378
Intel Core i5 430M (2.26Ghz Dual Core w/ Ht and Tb)
4GB DDR3 RAM
Intel GMA HD (128MB DVRAM 1698MB SVRAM)
320GB 5400RPM HDD
32GB PCIe SSD (OS installed here)
Dolby Home Theater Audio
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
6 Cell Lith Ion w/ up to 3.5 hrs usable battery life.
full keyboard with numpad
15.6inch widescreen LCDLED HD display (1366 X 768 PX)
+several terabytes of storage space on various shared drives or servers.
Only real issue is graphics, I get a lower framerate at fullscreen playing certain games, but for a portable computer, this thing's a multitasking speedmachine.
END COST: $449.99 USD

The sad thing with these threads are after everyone else posts Backslash will come in here mentioning on he is on an old garbage machine and waiting for new parts to come in this week for his new computer and his "garbage old" computer will be better than anyone elses in here, maybe two months old, and even then half the stuff in it hasn't even gone to market production yet...
He gets lots of samples of the new stuff before we even read about it in any tech articles.

I miss the old days, unfortunately the friend who I used to get tech samples from died a few years ago. I still manage to get new stuff once in a while, but I have to beg a whole lot since I'm not on the companies payroll.
Got two machines, one of them's waiting on a new mobo so I'll just post the one I'm using now:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE (got two of these, waiting for a dual socket AM3 mobo)
Asus Crosshair III 790FX (comes with Creative X-Fi)
Sapphire 5870 Vapor-X 2GB (trying to source a tech sample 5970, if I can't I'll be upgrading to the 6870)
XFX 8800 GT (purely for PhysX processing)
8GB (2x4) Kingston 1600Mhz DDR3
1x OCZ Vertex 60GB SSD for my OS
2x 350GB Seagate in Raid 0
1x 350GB Seagate for storage/pagefile
I'm actually on the lookout for 3 cheap monitors of identical resolution for an Eyefinity setup. Got two at the moment and I can't stand it due to the bezel in the middle! [ This Message was edited by: BackSlash on 2010-04-07 06:10 ]

Don't you guys just love how fleeting hardware bragging rights are?
Everything is so transitory. Hip today, you'll be gone tomorrow.
