I know what your gonna say.. this belongs in the beta page.. but i figured it would just be over looked there....
here is the deal...... after two hours of trying to test UGTO and KLuth Dreads i had to give up..
the Kluth had no worlds anywhere... and UGTO had one SY planet... it was constantly under blockade...
i faught off all kinds of ai for an hour in a scout hoping that the madness would end eventualy... i faught off MI transports.. Pirate transports... ICC transports, and kluth Transports!!!! i killed 40 ish FREAKING SHIPS!!!!>.
and when i did finaly get a break... i went to use the SY>. and guess what?
NO TECH NO WORKERS NO POWER NO DEFENCES>>> DEAD!!!!!
No wonder no one wants to beta test... its a freaking nightmare in there.
who in their right mind wants to go in there and fight for hours trying to get a sy up just to test something that may only take 3 mins otherwise???

I know and when i am on i try to atleast keep a Sy running on icc and ugto, but unfortunately ai do make bombing runs (or players) and the AI engineers usually only leave a bigger mess then it was when it was bombed..
ya sometimes i wish they could just pick three teran planets give every faction one SY planet and bind a 500gu safe zone to the planet.
But unfortunately i think that means Beta will have a different map than release and how to test something properly without having the same conditions...
p.s. no harm about posting here, its a comment on how beta is run, not a suggestion..
o look a "New Features players would like TO HAVE added." topic lets give a good one shall we.

You cannot really test Beta alone. It pretty much requires a group of players for that...

i think it doesnt matter, for beta testing You need simple way how reach goal
cluster of planets for each side, uncaptureable (hardcode shield 1000%, population 65535, infantry 65535) and enough resources this with SY'
if you force people waste 3h to reach 5 minute task for 'QA testing' then result is noone doing QA because of timewaste ....
so you need decide if You want to have useful beta or useless beta

i do.... but its still gonna take hours to set up so i can even get started testing...
no one here has access to aything larger than corvette to cap planets with on ugto..
mayb u can magicly throw a bomber dessy into my garage? ugto and kluth?

I built a fully functional SY complete with planet defense on UGTO in 50 minutes when the new MV map was released to beta. granted, I did have 8 build computers when building the def bases. It isn't too tedious, although undoubtably annoying.

the issue is taking on garrisons of AI from all other factions including pirates and MI and trying to take a def 14,,,, maby the occasional def 10 planet in a stinking corvette.
im not interested in playing the game in beta... its a waist of my sub.
im interested in testing new developments in beta as it was ment to be used

Ironically we are the ones that test new developments, you can preview them but chances are if they have been there for more then a day or two, they are already committed.

seriously, enough of this already.
Taking 10% of your shields back will not break ICC.
They were given 25% "without some hard data" whatever the hell that is even supposed to mean. They know the hard data, so I dont quite know what you are getting at there.
The 25% ruffled plenty of feathers, whether or not it should have.
Everyone needs to stop getting so damned offended and indignant simply because they are trying to balance out certain issues of the game.
Guess what. They think 25% was too much. They backed it down to 15%. If that shows to be too little, dont you think they'll put it up to 20% and try that?
Kluth shouldnt have been sobbing over the shield changes before, and ICC shouldn't be belly aching now.
It's a game, remember?

Very much so, though the shield increase upset a few people throwing their toys out of the pram, PB were happy as our fighting style which im sure is very much the same as Wolf or any other Kluth who work in teams, Necrotic and myself had little problems killing them the other day so 15% 20% or 25% we will just keep killing them, we just adapt to survive.
But we welcome any balance to improve the stablility of the game to help it move forward.
