apparently russia turned off gas to nine countries that were former Soviet union, and parts of eastern europe.

yes I've heard about it this morning in the news
I'm from Romania and they've left us with only 25% flow of natural gas.
yesterday were around -20C(some parts of the country even -31C) and we had no heat or hot water.
