Yeap. Just made a DarkSpace team on WhatPulse. WhatPulse is a program that records your keys and mouseclicks, (note : NOT YOUR WORDS BUT YOUR CLICKS, it is not a keylogger and alot of people use it and its worksafe)

Currently i've typed 1 million keys in 5 weeks, can you beat that? So come on and join the team at www.whatpulse.org and start ranking so the DarkSpace team becomes #1!

Yours truly,
LobbyZombie

For all those interested, it takes up very little memory and you can clock in the keyes in multiple computers at home, work , and even school. Think of it as something that bonds DS as a community, so head over to http://whatpulse.org/downloads/ and install whatpulse, every key counts!

well it logs the number of times you hit ANY key on the keyboard and uploads it to a central server that compares your statistics to the rest of the world. Additionally, as the team advances higher, we will be inadverdently advertising DS. Its pretty much one of those nifty things to have; in anycase you will hardly even notice it(low memory usage, low profile) unless you are looking for it.

show how many keyes DS players can put together and fight for the title of "most keyes presed in the world." Does it really matter?

i think the purpose is for advertising, in case you guys happened to miss it. its so that if you guys spam spacebar alot and we hit the top 10 in the whatpulse community everyone will go : "WOW DARKSPACE!" and join so we can have more newbs to kill. ^^

A person playing Darkspace does not press enough keys or click the mouse enough to register on keystroke counter in any kind of competive list. This game is very forgiving and has a very low action per minute count. Even in something as easy as WoW, the average WoW raiders would have a higher count that the most hardcore DS clicker. The average WoW PvP player would have a higher count than DS's top ten combined.

The Average FPS player has a higher count than the most hardcore DS clicker. Even click to move RPGs would have a higher count than Darkspace.

Causal Popcap games probably have more actions per minute than Darkspace. Darkspace might be equal to some of the RTS games, but I would be willing to bet Darkspace is closer to Turn Based games than anything else.

It cannot be anything other than counterproductive to try to suggest that Darkspace is a clickfest. It will not appeal to ADD spam clickers and gives a negative impression to target audiences.

However, this is assuming, on a rather large leap of faith, that someone would look at this website and come to the same conclusion that this is even remotely a viable advertisement.

Because, in listening to your description, as I will not even visit the website, my only though on the matter is... "Oh my god, you people are dumbasses." I do not mean that in the cutesy way that we usually say such things... I say in the old version, roughly translated into, "No combination of fetal alchohol system, repeated drops on the head, 3 meals a day of lead paint chips childhood and prolonged, repeated, heavy LSD abuse can explain this level of mental retardation."

In non computer terms, it is equivelent to base jumping without the parachute, to demonstrate how hardcore you are, because you saw on tv how the people fall out of airplanes and survive with only minor injuries.
