I'm a comcast customer. Never could be happier. Don't have any problems and I've got an extremely aged and funky setup just to get the line to my house.

I don't care. Its just propaganda for idiots.

When you discover your Darkspace traffic or other favorite game has been deprioritized because the parent company of your ISP is affiliated with a competing game, you might take notice? Or if your favorite video web site is practically inaccessible for the same reason?

It's a criminal de-evolution of the Internet to let the big telcos/cable giants destroy the web as we know it.

I guess you people that don't care have no interest in lag-free, maximum bandwidth connections to ANYwhere you go, as opposed to a short-list specified by your ISP.

Comcast issues are abundant. Their latest snafu is that customers that signed up for "Unlimited" packages are now capped to 250GB. If you extrapolate that out, you're getting <1mb/sec sustained for a month on packages that were supposed to be 6mb/sec or 8mb/sec. Bait and Switch if you ask me.

It's not so much using a slippery-slope argument to figure out what will happen, but more or less observing the actions and intentions of the companies to realize their end objectives. If Comcast could kill iTunes traffic and launch the same service, they would.

And full of nothing but propaganda and lies.

I've done more than 250gb in the last two WEEKS. I never have ANY problems accessing ANY game or ANY site that isn't down due to their host or some router in the middle of america going kaput (IE: Hundreds of others experience the same problem & its reported on Internet Health Reports).

Seriously, take your heads out of Uranus and stop buying into all the BS that people like Dorkspin spew.

Well, the issue is what they could do in the future. Here is the thing that no one seems to think about though. The only way the LOLDEATHOFINTERNET could happen is if it's net wide. For example: Let's say that Darkspace actually had a lot of users. Then let's say that Comcast buys a partnership with Darkspace, and Darkspace users with Comcast get it at blazing speed. Time Warner, on the other hand. does not have an agreement with DarkSpace, and is in fact in competition with Comcast and it's partners, and thus dampers their customers ability to get to Darkspace by allocating tiny amounts of bandwidth to it, and instead makes a partnership with Eve Online, allowing its users to play Eve at blazing fast speeds. This pisses a lot of people off, and is compounded with the millions of other possibilities of sites getting put on the "second tier" bandwidth allocation priority. Someone like Richard Bronson comes along, introduces an ISP that doesn't have any of these restrictions, everyone switches, and the other telecom companies die. The only way they could prevent this would be to buy all of the telecom backbones and then colloborate with each other, which they can't do because of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act.

So, Internet safe.

I would love to be you.... They just have a nack at throttleing down all the connections I have ever tested.

Stop emailing comcast about it and they might put your bandwidth back up

Net Neutrality is something to keep striving for, problem is how far must a company go to keep it neutral, and still be profitable.

The topic is old but still interesting.

Over here in europe we don't have lots or big situations where true net neutrality comes in to question, we have more Net anonymity problems (Italian's blogger problem & Nicolas Sarkozy's crusade against p2p programs).

I can't say i'm for net neutrality but i'm not against it.
We just need to come up with a decent standard that will be applied world wide, about how far a ISP can manage/manipulate its own/customers trafic.

Ok wow... You are in complete denial. The FCC caught comcast blocking/throttleing traffic. It was brought to our attention as the FCC wanted an opinion on the matter before they took action. From there comcast has done nothing but fight what the FCC is telling them what not to do.
