iv been playing DS for a wile on my old pc wich worked fine my old pc broke i just brought a laptop with vista and i downloaded DS again on it tryed playing but it didnt get to the loby iv tryed updating the cilent by going on the tutorial first when that didnt work i uninstaled it and reinstaled it and still didnt work iv downladed the the beta to see if that would work but still now is it because of vista or the security update i have to get rid of or is that only on XP please help i cant play any more and i miss playing!!!

The game does run under Vista, tested it myself in a morbid fit of curiosity.
Use the Beta Client to install the Release version... It plays nicer under Vista...
There have been a few issues with a couple of the MS Updates that have caused issues for some users, but not all. My machines are all fully patched, both XP and Vista, and I have no problems.

Nope it keeps asking for premisrion and the file thinks its lost conection so it stops workin plz sum1 help i have no idea about Vista im a simply XP man lol

After struggling with what you actually typed, I think I can make out that you have a permission issue with running Darkspace under Vista. Vista being querky as it is, you will need to install Darkspace on vista with Admin privileges.

Do not install Darkspace in Program Files; Try it in C:PalestarDarkspace or something like that, I remember vista having some special permissions for Program Files folder.

The releace verson of darkspace is on they beta client aswell... I have to use that myself to play the game. To use it under vista folow these steps.
1. Download the folowing: GameCQ Beta.
2. now install it.
3. locate the new Game CQ icon on your desktop and right click it.
4. now go to propertys.
5. click the compatibility tab.
6. make sure you check the box called RUN AS ADMINASTRATOR.
7. the first time you run the beta client "at least it does this to me." you must click no on the restart and go into it a second time...
8. Your done yea  now you just have to install the beta and darkspace releace from the beta client. enjoy I hope this works. If you need the install process of the two seprate versions of the game im all for it.
