Sorry Goth, I know you're usually the go-to person for these
topics, but this one is just too good to wait for you to get around to it.
WALL-E is beautiful and incredible and awesome. Not much more can be said. The audience I was with, kids, teens worried about a kid movie, and chatty adults, were in a completely silent reverie for almost the whole thing. Not your usual theater-quiet, but the absolute guarded silence you get from stunned wonder.

I thought it was a great movie, but at the same time it made me sick to my stomach over the fact that I was the only one in the theater disgusted from watching a movie about how fat...wasteful...and pointless humanity is. Go robot, out live your human counterparts. They don't deserve to survive on this planet any longer.
I don't need a movie to tell me the human race is a waste of oxygen. I hope Pixar doesn't ruin their next potentially great movie with a grim reality only a handful of people will see.
By the way...the whole time I was waiting for Johnny 5 to come out and blast that little twit WALLE with his shoulder mounted laser for ripping him off.

The fact you mentioned Johnny 5 made my night. I recently found short cirucuit on dvd and bought it. Made me chuckle to knwo others watched it as well.

Indeed, certainly looks cross between No5, the litle cuties in Batteries Not Included and the robots from the movie Silent Running (which most are to young to remember).

I really like this movie..
Both for Wall-E's cute character, and because of the sci-fi dystopia (antiutopia, but who's going to tell the difference), as lighthearted as the story was.
