Not the update you are all thinking. This is a new one.

This batch of security updates that was released a couple of days ago. Whenever I install them, I can no longer access the internet. It says I am connected and there is no problem, but when I click on the internet explorer, it shows the 'unable to access page' message, as though it were blocked by a firewall. I have tried everything I can, from turning my firewall off, to all my security measures off. Still I cannot access the internet. The only way I have to fix it is to uninstall the security update (which I am sure is not a good thing).

Any idea why these new security updates would block my internet from me? it's really very frustrating. My roommate has an identical computer to mine, and his is working fine with the updates. I just dont understand what is going on here.

It was still able to download more updates from microsoft and I bet any other 'background' internet access. It seemed to be just IE that was blocked.

Anyway, I have decided to approach it with the "it hurts when I do this" method. I will just stop doing that. The updates have been removed and I have disabled further updates.
