Amusing, although it depends on your definition of "gaming skill".

Mathematically and intellectually, EVE would be far above some of the other mentioned games on the complexity-index, while I would definitely place Jumpgate and perhaps even modded Freelancer, DarkSpace and so on, at the more extreme end of actual skill, eg. finger dexterity, reflex and whatever you might consider your standard online gaming "skill".

We need to put DarkSpace on there, as a series of A's and V's, with the figure climbing up, rejoicing over his newfound cruiser or dreadnaught, before being divebombed by a scout into the V, yelling expletives and asking why a scout is annihilating him on th way down...

"Twitch Gaming"

Reaction speeds dont = skill/ability.

Granted it may be mistaken as such in an FPS, but many more games out there that require alot more than a quick reaction time.

Yeah. Dyslexic people might have issues pressing the spacebar in tandem with clicking target indicators.

Good thing I dont suffer from it and as thus, find no alarming need for a mobile wiktionary pointing out something relevant yet completely worthless information.

Well then, seeing as I am playing the part of the dictionary, here is the definition of Dyslexic for you.

Perhaps a little research would aid your cause? Unable to see how Dyslexia affects someones ability to click and hit the space bar.

Ofcourse it also depends on your context, do you not in DS click a target and hit space? How does that make it stand apart from many other games?

Surely those that actually require you to use Function and Number keys would be much more taxing on a small mind, rather than merely being an option for a more advanced player.

I dont even use the function keys while playing EVE. I have programmed the second additional button of my mouse to cycle F1 to F8 on the driverside. Very effective with Tempests I may add, especially for swatting those smelly goons out of the sky.

Dyslexia is relevant as some dyslexic people have had problems keeping a track of the buttons or timing them properly, or perhaps they are simply lobotomized and it's just a weird government coverup, YA NKOW, [ADMIN EDIT - SWEARING IS NOT ALLOWED, REGARDLESS OF THE LANGUAGE YOU USE - MR BLACK].(Did you know that the word coverup was originally "coup", but was soon after invention, covered up(couped?(souped?)) because it became closely affiliated with the words such as "terrorist" and "a bomb" which are well-renowned for damaging the minds of the youth?)

Reaction speeds and quick of wit are more relevant in DarkSpace as it actually requires some kind of a comprehension of maneuvering, not really tactics in the definition of tactics, or any other attribute commonly accounted to skill, especially not in this version of the game.

And in other news sherlock,

I have grown tired of looking at your hairy ass around these parts.
God forbid it has been 3 years and you still havent shaved it.

I have a good guess though, that you and me, in a combined effort have succesfully seized this forum thread for mind-boggling purposes and the arrival of the administrator dropship is imminent, but may take up to, and including, but not limited to, 2 real world weeks.

You know, once and a while i put a web page on my other screen while playing that allows me to blast audio clips from a certain movie while in combat or bombing. It brings a comical relief to the game that some of you may find enlightening, or just plain stress relieving. try it, its fun.
