silly me, I didnt think serpurity was a word until I googled it and a post by you came up so it must be real. I phear rogue spear!
Apparently no, sadly. I would personally love to have Mod privileges on a player server, just to fool with. Course, like the ability to set or negate rank, it would destroy the game.

quote from ROC section 3.3 F
Illegally Customised Ships
Description: Illegal ships are any ship that cannot be made with the current customization rules.
Why Its An Exploit: When DarkSpace is patched, changes to equipment, slot, and ship types are often done in an effort to establish a better balance of the game. Ships left over from before the patch and update can then be grossly out of balance to those left customised after the rules. Additionally, any other method of modifying a ship's gadgetry which is not intended falls under this exploit.
SPECIAL NOTE: Players found with illegal ships and that refuse to comply with staff requests to remove said ships will result in a full reset of the players ship storage without refund of credits for equipment contained therein. This is a minimum; additional measures may be taken at the staff's discretion.

wow I actually have to go with trader on this one, thats not what he was talking about. He meant on a player server, which is legal, can he get the same mod abilities as we see so often from our Mods in the MV. For instance that scout that could repair and build and activly engaged in a major battle, but he only wants that ability to fool around with in a private enviorment. Least I think thats what you meant. Still no though.

thats not customising.. its called scripts -.-
real customisation includes the bility to change the armor thickness (ie inches of armor ((hp >_>)) for mass), were as every ship type has preset weapon slots, for example, a missile dreadnought would have lots of missile weapon slots but little to no cannon/beam slots.
mass would be determined by the ships class.. ie a scout cant have the same armor thickness as a dread (it cant move the same mass )
weapon slots would allso be determind by the devs.
so in short the ability to ajust armor thickness (to a max set by the ships class ) and having a detailed modding window when you spawn (ie no more remove and install things >_>), is customisation... making a scout have 500 qsts is not =/.. its just a script.

I was under the impression that this was only for offical servers.
edit:
15:58:01 [Myth]Drafell: "yeah ok, rocclarification, go ahead"
15:58:31 [=TB=]Fattierob (x2,2 = 4): "Under section 3.3 F it states that Description: Illegal ships are any ship that cannot be made with the current customization rules. "
15:58:43 [=TB=]Fattierob (x2,2 = 4): "Does this count on player-run servers, and/or non-offical palestar servers?"
15:58:47 [Myth]Drafell: "yup"
15:59:59 [Myth]Drafell: "I doesn't count on servers which are not prestige gain enabled, unless it's a Palestar Server, in which case it counts regardless of prestigeenabled flag"
Victoley!

If you're giving players access to ships they shouldn't have (which is impossible without severe tinkering), then your server will most likely be shut down.
Play around within reason otherwise.
