It has taken bloody ages for EP2 to come out.

Well they DID make two games from scratch, and make EP2 at the same time...
However, they are reviewing their episodic approach to Half-life 2, and will ask punters what they want after EP2 is released.

I'm going to have to second the motion that it sure took them a long time to develop one-third of a game 
I will, however, possibly reverse that position after playing Portal and TF2.
