Hey there peoples, I need some second opinions... well hopefully a lot more then that. I kind of need it in the next couple of days.
I am starting a buisiness a retail shop. It will sell inexpensive items (toys, candy, etc) for kids as there are playgrounds and a school right next door. Also it will sell clothing. I am going to do custom EMT, Paramedic, Fire Dept, Police T-shirts and hats. Also other clothing from NY and NY Yankees sports appearal (Sorry my buisiness partner is not a Red Sox fan.)
My problem lies with coming up with a name. We have already chosen Bargain Hut but i dont know if that sounds to corny also on a side note the buisiness is only about 700+ square feet.
My name is Chris and my partners is Alex...
was thinking C.A. Bargains and Apparel I dont know what do you guys think?

I dunno, bargains in the name could give people the impression you will be selling poorly manufactured goods. i.e. you get what you pay for......bargains = cheap = poor quality = unbranded goods etc.

I did ask for opinions so give them if you got them. Bargains does mean cheap but the area I live in isnt exactaly "rich" or even "well off" so there will be inexpensive items that have been imported from Sydney to the warehouses in NY they are no brand name items but that only makes up about 40-50 precent of the store.
The rest is looking like it will be apparel. This will be brand name stuff but will be inexpensive as the cost for them is fairly low and we are trying to keep it that way to get the buisiness.
OH PS there is no Van and wont be that much candy to even have it in the name.

If you are targeting the younger crowd, keep the name very simple... ...nothing difficult to pronounce. If you know your niche in the market, the name should reflect it. Good luck.

Don't be scared of going for an upmarket style name or logo...
With kids, image is nearly everything, and the name can mean a lot more than the actual product.
Something like C.A.B. might work well. It's simple, short and easy to remember, and you are under no obligation to explain what C.A.B. stands for.
I guess a lot will depend on if you go for custom labels on products, where possible, or just stick with known brands.

Yeah, C.A.B. makes sense
1) It's a 3 letter Acronym
2) It's catchy (Hey man, where did you get that hat? "At the C-A-B, dude!"
3) THeirs an actual meaning for the Acronym

Or even develop the acronym into a nickname, like Cabby's; I know that the coolest thing you could do at my old Junior High was stop at "Pettit's" on the way home, for either a soda and slice of pizza if you were a good kid, or something illicit if you weren't.

You could call it either the "Dollar Store" or the "Cheap Bargaining" or Paradise Bargains.

i would agree on cabbies, But would have a london taxi in the sign. Apparently people like us brits atm.
Or if in New york stick a yellow one up there.
Cabbies/Cabys, is easily remembered.
Would agree with sard et al.
