Which way round should a toilet roll be installed to minimise amount of paper used, and does having a woman using aforementioned toilet roll have any bearings on the amount used ?

Sheet to be used facing outwards ?

Sheet to be used facing wall ?

One of life's many mysteries...(Found elsewhere, discuss.)

I'm an Electrician. When pulling Wire we set up the reels to roll off the Top, it makes it easier to pull 1000 lbs of weight off the reels.

That said I set up the TP the same way....out of habit more than anything else. Does it Save? Does it have any bearing at all on how much is used?

Hell no.

HELL YES! They will used an ENTIRE roll in a day! To them it's a Napkin, a Makeup remover, a paper towel, a snot rag, a Dish rag, Wrapping Paper (OMG they'll wrap ANYTHING in it), and of course it's intended use.

Ill agree with Feral that a woman would use the entire roll, within at least 12 hours of installation.

However Ill state that a toiler roll installed upwards as Feral said would likely cause more toilet paper to be used than neccessary, as pulling down is easier than pulling up, one would inadvertantly pull more than is needed unintentionally.

I agree with the pulling down. It just seems so much easier. You can control the amount you get also. Now, the location of the roll can also be important. On the tank is a good place put one. Easy to reach also.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

But then, Ent and Rev are weirdos.

Dear god I hope so, only way I could see pulling up is if the roll rack was bolted to the floor... Grab the corner, and pull!

Now the question is, do you guys and gals use one hand?

Or do you pull a little out and use some kung-foo to break it off?

I choose the Fu

It really depends. Like, if I'm reading a book, I'll use one hand. Oh, and heaven help the poor soul who is married and doesn't put the roll back where it belongs, and leaves it on the tank.

Ever since on The Simpsons when Family Services came and docked them points for the "Toilet paper roll in the overhand position" I put the roll facint the wall. This way, if one square is hanging off the back, it doesnt look as tacky. Also for smaller bathrooms, you need some room to move your elbows, and if it is in the overhand position, it is closer to you, and therefore harder to get.

As for women using toilet paper... they think that you need 1/2 roll for urine...

Guys guys guys... You have to understand, its a bit different for a woman... I wont lie, I use a fair amout of toilet paper a day, I am paying for it, and would you rather have every woman smelling like urine all day?

I put my TP with it hanging in the back, and I use the Kung-Foo one-handed technique. Unfortunately, it has a downfall if you don't consider proper physics. Once in a while, I will end up just pulling 20 feet of tp, instead of ripping it... the smaller the roll, the harder its gets!

Can you tell I was bored this morning to even consider posting to this?

I have found the "Oh crap ran out of toilet paper someone put a roll by the door and slide a sheet in" works wonders. Then you can just keep pulling. Good for when opening the bathroom door is not possible.
