James brown Redefined Soul music without a hint of sexual inuendo it was suttle in his music but it was there....and twist and shout was done by chubby checker  but yeah.....my parents are heartbroken my mom was 30 when his first single came out in 1971 -.-

I saw him a couple of years ago at a concert as a support act (why only a support, I shall never know) and he was great, no matter how leathery he was. RIP
